Olympus is preparing to announce the PEN E-P5 camera on May 10. However, the Micro Four Thirds camera holds no secrets from us, as its entire specs list has been leaked on the web.

Leaked Olympus E-P5 specs list “confirms” 16.1-megapixel sensor

The name of the Olympus E-P5 has been heard countless times before, while the mirrorless camera’s photos have been leaked on a couple of occasions. Partial specs have also been revealed, but a leakster has decided to unearth the entire list of features of the MFT system.

Some of the most important specs of the Olympus E-P5 include a 16.1-megapixel Live MOS image sensor, Supersonic Wave Filter dust reduction system, RAW image file support, built-in image stabilization with live view support, and a shutter speed range between 1/8000 and 60 seconds.

Focus Peaking technology will definitely be available in the E-P5

The camera’s live view will provide a field of view close to 100% with support for face detection preview. It consists of a 3-inch tilting monitor with 1,037K-dot resolution.

Olympus E-P5 specs also include a high-speed autofocus system with Focus Peaking technology.

The Micro Four Thirds shooter also offers Aperture, Shutter, and Manual modes, as well as a scene selector, which will allow photographers to use predetermined settings.

ISO sensitivity ranges between 100 and 25,600, though the built-in flash may come in handy when taking photos in low-light conditions. A self-timer is also available, along with exposure bracketing functionality.

Olympus E-P5 to feature WiFi and 1080p video recording

Olympus’ latest camera will be able to capture full HD videos at 30p in MPEG4 / H.264 format, while time lapse movies are available at 1280 x 720 and 10fps.

The connectivity department will also be an important part of the Olympus E-P5, as the camera will come packed with built-in WiFi, USB 2.0 port, and a HDMI port. GPS is also supported, though the MFT will have to be connected to a smartphone or tablet in order to access it.

VF-4 external viewfinder list of features also leaked

A hot shoe will be available for a number of accessories, including the VF-4 viewfinder, whose specs have also been leaked on the web. This accessory will be compatible with multiple cameras, including the unannounced Olympus E-PL6.

The VF-4 viewfinder features a 2.36 million-dot resolution and Eye Sensor technology. This special function will only be supported by the E-P5 and E-PL6, while other devices will not get it.

As stated above, this information will become official on May 10 during a special event.
